Julia Fiona Roberts was born in Atlanta on the 28th of October, 1967 as the daughter of Betty Lou Bredemus and Walter Grady Roberts. Her family is the fourth Roberts family that lived in Atlanta. This began with her great grandfather John Pendleton Roberts who was an agriculturalist. She inherited her father's interest in theatre from an early age. As studying in Emory University in 1952 he acted in productions on campus and in Atlanta. In 1953, he enlisted in the Air Force, and was stationed at Biloxi in Mississippi, he acted in a show with Betty Lou Bredemus. The couple got married in 2005 and had their first child, Eric Anthony in 1956. Walter was a student at Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana after leaving the Airforce in 1957. Walter started working at Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. Walter and Betty Lou started production in 1964 on the local children's Saturday morning show on television called Bum Bum and His Buddies, which they funded themselves. The Actors and Writers Workshop was established in 1964 and lasted for 6 years. They also had Lelisa Billingsley (also called Lisa) as well as Julia (also known as Julie) in this time.
