
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His most famous role was the private investigator Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988) and for which he received five Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in the Drama Series and won in 1985. Since the year 2010, Selleck has been co-starring in the role of New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the series Blue Bloods. In nine TV movies based upon the Robert B. Parker novels the actor played Jesse Stone, a troubled police chief from a small town, beginning in the year 2005. Selleck also played Peter Mitchell an architect who is a bachelor as well as a bachelor architecture student in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and Three Men and A Little Lady(1990). Alongside his appearances in Magnum, P.I., Selleck has appeared in more than 50 films and television shows, which include the movies Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He was a frequent TV actor, playing Monica Geller's lover, Dr. Richard Burke, on Friends; Lance White, the likeable, naive partner, in The Rockford Files; and as A.J., the casino owner. He also played the leading role in the TV western The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran and is a spokesperson for National Rifle Association (NRA) as well as an endorser on advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
